EXPRESS, ME
(Exhibition, Editorial Design)
In the 21st century, tattoo
culture entered the mainstream like never before. For a significant number of
humans, the ancient form of body modification provides a unique means of
self-expression. Tattoos have become so ubiquitous in worldwide. However, in
South Korea, tattoo bans remain enforced.
Express, Me is a hypothetical exhibition and publication that features current Korean tattoo cultures recorded by tattoo artists. In the future, tattoos will not exist on the precarious boundary between legal and illegal, art and non-art, but will naturally take their place as a proud cultural and artistic flow.
